The Count in Action

Still more on the Beneteau Cup. Yann Audic was out on the water on one of the tenders shadowing the regatta. Enjoy these shots that he took. For more extensive photos of The Count scroll through our website.

Night n Day

Finally we had the chance to have the crew....and better halves of the legendary RSYS racer EQUIKNOX aboard. You may remember that Alan and I crewed with this group of vagabonds last season (Greer managed a guest appearance on the day of a 50knot southerly).

Another beautiful Sydney day greeted us and with a number of the Equiknox crew leading the way, under the watchful eye of Al, we headed for Quarantine.

A highlight of the day was in setting the spinnaker for our trip home. Setting with the Manly ferry about 100m off our starboard bow we were greeted with cheers, claps and even wolf whistles......glad it launched OK.

Truely a GSM......Great Sporting Moment!

Beneteau Cup

Just an additional note to thank Brendan Hunt and the team at VICSAIL for puting on a great event. Also to the CYCA for hosting and finding us a berth for the night...thanks Frank. We'll be back next year to put a bit of pressure on the wiser B57's.

Also a big thank you to all of our crew. It's great to have people that not only know what they're doing but who really love being out on the water.

Keep an eye out for our new website with great action shots of the day.

More than a B Cup!

Wow, what a day! Beneteau's to the front of us......Beneteau's to the back of us.....25 knot Southerly....the B57's were in their element. Five B 57's lined up but only four would complete each race.....and yep.....Race 1 didn't really go the way we wanted it to. In arguably the position that would win us the race the outhaul on our mainsail released and we were done for Race 1...OK Losel and Knak Knak may disagree with the potential outcome but we'll never know....so that's how we saw it!

We pulled in near Darling Point, jimmied up the mainsail, licked our wounds......lunch and a beer....and we were ready for Race 2.

The Count fought gallantly but alas more experienced warriors prevailed with Losel providing a clean sweep but closely followed by Knak Knak. Ex Storyteller, now Allchemy III followed us in.

What a day!

The gauntlet has been thrown!

In a bold move 4 Beneteau 57's have thrown down the gauntlet to The Count and challenged her to a race to determine the B 57 Australian Champion...what were we to do but to take up the challenge.

This Friday the Beneteau Cup, organised and run by VICSAIL, will be held out of the CYCA at Rushcutters Bay. It looks to be a great event with 25 knot Southerlies greeting the start....BRING IT ON!

Crew positions are still available.....email me if you're interested.

The best....and the best!

The oncoming summer brought a stiff Nor-easter opening the possibilities for a good offshore sail. The Count didn't disappoint.

She handled the slight swell with ease....and even more fun was searching for the magical 10knts whilst surfing the swell on the way back in we topped out at 9.9knots. Close...but no cigar!

We retired to the protection of Quarantine. With the water temperature at 21 degrees it didn't take much persuasion to take a dip.
