I do!

Today was a very special day, Make it Count made it count with our first wedding aboard.

Doertre, Andreas holidaying in Oz from Germany thought it would be a fitting end to their travel to be married with the Opera Hose and Bridge as a backdrop.

They've even booked for 2020 to renew their vows....how's that!

It was a great day and a beautiful ceremony......Congratulations to the Hoffmans

Baby Steps.....

After fighting 30knot Nor-easterlies Athol Bay was a welcome relief so we decided to stay the night. We also had been told the wind was howling back our berth so thought that this was the best option.

At 0400 hrs the wind changed to a 30 knot Westerly.....leaving The Count totally exposed. We decided to move to Chowder Bay....as quick as we could!

What a paradise. We watch the Rapsody of the Seas arrive, then the sun rise and decided to head home knowing that our berth would be protected from the Westerly.

Forget paradise......we turned Bradleys Head and ran into what was now a 40 knot Westerly. The Count had waves break over the bow most of the way home. Needless to say....we were very happy when we arrived home.

Giant Steps

Today we entered our first regatta at the invitation of VICSAIL. It was held out of Middle Harbour and was to raise money for the Giant Steps Foundation. The day was one to remember. For those that don't understand how these day's work they operate on a handicap system. That is, yachts start at different times with the aim of all boats finishing very close at the end. Usually the big cruising boats can't hold a candle to the light weight racers but when gusts to 30 knots sweep across the harbour the 23 tonners are in their element!

There were 3 Beneteau 57's in the race and placed 1st, 2nd and 4th. The Count took a respectful 2nd place (not bad for our first event) by a mere 30 seconds.

On dropping our guests ashore Greer and I decided to relax on a mooring in Athol Bay. Little did we know but it was the calm before the storm.

Who's who at the zoo?

With The Count in need of operational testing Greer and I headed out for The Count's first overnighter. You may laugh but we do need to make sure all is operational before we're comfortable having guests aboard for extended stays. After a few hiccups we're very satisfied.

So what better place to test but Athol Bay, just below Taronga Park Zoo. What a beautiful place this is. As the sun set's and again as it rises the noises from the different animals is quite amazing. Well worth the trip.
