The Benteteau Cup is an opportunity for Beneteau owners and sailors to get together and enjoy some time on the water. Whilst it is a competitive event the competition comes from who can have the most fun. Shane & Lisa Crookshank of VICSAIL Pittwater did a great job running the event.....again!
The Count (Div 2) followed the Spinnaker Division up Pittwater.
Unfortunately the wind died creating some sailing at close quarters.
Enough though for the crew to at least appear serious!
And when it's all done.......THREE CHEERS!
......and throw the Skipper overboard!

The Ripple Effect
The Count tries to fly our "Ripples" spinnaker as much as possible but on a this beautiful Autumn morning we were snapped by guests on, by coincidence, another B57.
First snapped passing the Opera House with the spinnaker on the foredeck and main sail ready for hoisting.
With 5-6 knots of Sou-westerly breeze The Count was travelling at 4-5 knots! Not bad for a 24 tonne boat in such light conditions.
A great day had by all aboard when resetting our spinnaker under a now a Sou-Easterly for the trip home.
Tidying up with weather like this reminds me that there are worse jobs out there!

The Count goes Topless!
Yes....The Count was seen "topless" on Sydney Harbour. We decided to throw caution to the wind and sail without.....yes that's right .......the dodger.
The dodger is the canopy protecting the entrance to the cabin and as we were sailing in such wonderful Autumn weather we decided to get it off!
Wow.....what a feeling and what an experience (you'd think I was speaking of what first came to mind wouldn't you?).
Life's not so bad.......
Whitsunday's here we come!!

Designers to Make it Count
The Count was happy to host some of the world's preeminent Architects that were attending the National Architecture Conference in Melbourne. David Neustein of CANDALESPAS ASSOC. arranged a wonderful afternoon sail past notable architectural feats as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.
We were graced by one of the world's leading architects, Fumihiko Maki. Maki, a recipient of the "Pritzker Prize" (read...Nobel Prize for Architecture) is known for his work with light and blending with nature.
The group were able to marvel at the wonderment of Sydney's prized Opera House and were able to get a great view of the city from the west.
