Good weather for ducks

The Count was out testing sail etc today. It seemed like a good idea at the time but the weather Gods weren't looking kindly on us......that being said it did stop raining at the right times when crucial adjustments and changes were necessary.

The ever optimistic Ian Short kept looking up suggesting that it would clear...after all, it was sunny in the Shire!

Big Steve Kemp just said bring it on baby....."this isn't rain.....you should see back home in Northern England!"
Steve was out with us for any "contingencies" for his baby as she was put through her paces and as always brought more than just technical "production " knowledge and was advising Shorty in no time!....It's a bit like watching the Odd Couple.

Charles from VICSAIL, who grabbed the opportunity for a sail, took up position under the bimini whilst Alan Stannard (Ships Master) had it all worked out.....he was on the helm, 100% dry.

Once the trial work was done, Alan and I headed out for a bit of a cruise of the Harbour. The Count tasted "Blue Water" for the first time as we stuck our nose out through the heads then back to protected waters off Manly Wharf.

On our return journey we did a "sail past" off Ripples at Chowder Bay where we saw Bill Drakopoulos braving the elements to salute us.

The new Henri Lloyd crew gear stood up to many hours in the rain (thanks Colin).....unfortunately I chose to where my old leather sailing shoes that wound up like little sponges on my feet by the end of the day.....mmm a change of clothes on The Count might be a good idea!

Stay tuned!
